King John play reading
The Stratford Society participated in the Shakespeare's Coming Home campaign, by performing the play King John in the Town Hall on Saturday 5th March. This play is less known than Shakespeare's other history plays, but has some resonance with current times with England and France at war for purely political reasons. Twenty members and friends made up the cast, with ages ranging from 11 to 96 and including some very distinguished Shakespeare scholars. The Society contributed £500 toward the cause.
